Time is the most important and limited commodity that binds us together in our journey through life. I myself have been creating with you for more than 30 years, dear founders, owners and employees, especially those of you who have been with us for a very long time, some of you almost from the very beginning. It is a great fortune to have had such an opportunity, which has enabled me to create the success story of Seltron together.

More than thirty years ago, on 28 March 1990, in Bistrica ob Dravi, Jože Hertiš and Jože Krivonog founded the company Seltron d.o.o. The word Seltron originated as an abbreviation for selective, selected and sophisticated electronics.

In the beginning, the team was small, but persistent, resourceful and brave. The work took place in a small workshop and a modest office. The conditions and opportunities then were very different from what we know today. We ourselves performed all business functions from development, production, sales, logistics, marketing, etc. After the first uncertain steps of looking for business opportunities, we soon developed and produced a family of electronic time relays. A major milestone followed as we became a development supplier of electronic controllers for solar water heaters. This great success encouraged us to develop and manufacture heating controllers for residential houses. After a few years, we became the market leader in this field.

This inspired us to create a corporate mission that still unites us today in our common goals. Helping people save energy by heating their spaces in an environmentally friendly way.
We have expanded our original location in Bistrica ob Dravi. We have built two buildings which have enabled us to realise our business idea of a commercial activity that perfectly complements our production programme, thus offering our customers complete space heating solutions on the domestic market.

We were extremely proud and delighted to have our first customer on foreign markets, our first million sales, new products that are entirely the result of our own know-how, development and innovation.
With year-on-year growth, we have outgrown the space capacity of the Bistrica ob Dravi site. After several years of searching for a suitable location, we found a solution in the purchase of a building along Tržaška cesta in Maribor. This gave the company a new impetus, which we have used to fill the last remaining space at this location. Further expansion was secured by the purchase of the adjacent land.
This year we will generate a turnover of more than € 16 million and achieve a profit of at least € 1.5 million and an added value per employee of around € 65 thousand. €. The management, the managers and all employees can be really proud of the results we have achieved.

The whole story started with the entrepreneurial and creative restlessness and courage of the founders. Special thanks to them for making their ideas and work grow into the company we are proud of today. We have several colleagues who have been with us since the early days. Their contribution has also enabled us to grow continuously and to meet the need for new employees, so that today there are eighty of us in the company. I would like to thank all our colleagues for their contribution to our common development and I invite you to continue to develop and realise your potential and goals within our ranks.

Thanks also go to our business partners, with whom we have built not only excellent business relationships, but also bonds of friendship. These are the companies that involve us in joint development projects where we create competitive products for the present and the future. This requires a high level of innovation, reliability, efficiency and quality. These are all conditions for us to be successful in a developed global market. This way of working, thinking and working together enables us to have a creative, successful and stable future. We do business with all major domestic customers and more than forty foreign customers in eighteen countries.

We feel wanted in our local environment. We have excellent conditions for business development and quality of life for our employees. We are also a responsible partner in the local community, creating quality jobs, providing work for many co-workers and being involved in social life.

We see the life of an individual, as well as the development of a company, as a journey through time, where the only constant is change and the key strength is knowledge and skills. We are creating a modern digitalised company that creates solutions for business partners, with a friendly and creative environment for employees to realise their dreams, develop new products and weave partnerships with customers. We look to the future with optimism, energy and a vision for further development of the company.
