Why do we need a heat store in a heating system?
A heat storage tank (storage tank) is an intermediate element of a central heating system and is used in modern heating systems. It is designed to store the excess heat energy produced by a wood biomass boiler, heat pump, solar system or a combination of these sources. The stored heat is then fed to different consumers depending on the needs of the heating system. All SELTRON heat storage tanks have special valves at the connections to reduce the possibility of mixing water in the tank. This preserves the maximum amount of heat that can be used to return to the heating system.
