Daikin Altherma LT Compact heat pump

The Altherma LT Compact allows heating and cooling of buildings with the possibility of integrating a solar system. The 300 or 500 l storage tank stores the energy generated by the heat pump and the solar system, which is then used for space heating and domestic hot water. It is suitable for all types of low-temperature heat systems for which a heating temperature of up to 55 °C is sufficient for heating.

Combination of heat pump, solar system or other heating source

The Altherma LT Compact combines a heat pump for heating and cooling, while allowing you to connect a solar system or any other heating source. The innovative design has an integrated storage tank in addition to the heat pump components, which is primarily heated by free solar energy.

Operating principle of the Daikin Atherma LT compact heat pump

In the event that solar energy is not available or insufficient, the heat pump automatically switches on and heats the storage tank to the desired operating temperature, depending on the outside temperature and the desired room temperature. This mode of operation allows the solar energy to be intercepted first (for domestic hot water as well as for heating), before the heat pump is switched on further if necessary. An electric heater of suitable power can be retrofitted to the heat pump to provide a stable additional source of power and to assist the heat pump in extremely adverse operating conditions.

The Daikin Atherma LT compact heat pump with built-in heat storage ensures maximum hygiene and integrity in the production of domestic hot water. The water to be heated is piped into the heat exchanger system. When sufficient solar energy is available, the control pumping unit pushes the storage water from the heat store into the solar collectors. The water is circulated through the solar system until the storage tank is heated to the desired temperature, or until there is a sufficient temperature difference between the collectors and the heat storage tank. When one of the conditions is met, the pumping unit stops working and the heating medium is released from the collectors back into the storage tank. There are no low-flow zones in the storage tank or zones that do not heat up in the hot water pipe. Due to the flow operation, there is no scale, rust or other sediment build-up, as can be observed with conventional domestic water heaters. The water that flows into the storage tank first is also the first to be drained out (first in - first out principle). This system ensures maximum hygienic integrity.
