Seltron's "trend follower" approach has also been applied in the development of the new AFD external temperature sensor. The sensor has a modern design. It is immune to heat lost through the building envelope, while reacting quickly to temperature changes.
It has air ducts designed into the casing to optimise air circulation. This ensures an accurate measurement of the outside temperature.
The sensor is easy to install. Use the built-in spirit level to align it horizontally and then fix it to the wall using the two screws provided.
The AFD temperature sensor is used to measure the outdoor temperature in individual or industrial buildings or the indoor temperature in industrial buildings.
External mounting
If the sensor is used as an outdoor sensor, it must be ensured that it is not directly exposed to the sun. It shall be mounted on the north wall of the building. The mounting position shall be a minimum of 2 m above the ground. It must be ensured that the sensor is not mounted above or next to heat sources (window, vent, etc.).
Internal installation
If the sensor is used to measure indoor temperature, it must be ensured that it is not exposed to sources of heat or draughts (near or above heating elements, near doors, etc.). It shall be mounted on an internal wall of the building.
